This is my favorite way to paint. It's so loose with lots of thick impasto paint and gives such a solid representation of the subject. It's so natural to paint an old man in this manner, but I also like to paint a beautiful woman in this style as well. However, it takes a very secure personality of the subject to see them being painted in this style. When this works, it keeps me on a high for days!
